Anti-Tubercular Activity of Isatin Derivatives
Tuberculosis (TB) remains among the world’s great public health challenges. Worldwide resurgence of TB is due to two major problems: the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) epidemic, which started in the mid-1980s, and the outbreak of multidrug resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB). Thus, there is an urgent need for anti-TB drugs with improved properties such as: Enhanced activity against MDR s...
متن کاملReview on Cns Activity of Isatin Derivatives
Isatin derivatives are one of most potent anticonvulsant agent of natural origin. It has display potent anticonvulsant effect in a wide variety of preclinical anticonvulsant models. Till date various isatin derivatives have been synthesized and evaluated for anticonvulsant activity. This review is an attempt to compile the medicinal chemistry of various synthesized isatin analogs. Isatin and it...
متن کاملMorita–Baylis–Hillman reaction of acrylamide with isatin derivatives
The Morita-Baylis-Hillman reaction of acrylamide, as an activated alkene, has seen little development due to its low reactivity. We have developed the reaction using isatin derivatives with acrylamide, DABCO as a promoter and phenol as an additive in acetonitrile. The corresponding aza version with acrylate and acrylonitrile has also been developed resulting in high product yields.
متن کاملBiological activities of isatin and its derivatives.
Isatin is an endogenous compound identified in humans that possesses a wide range of biological activities. Isatin has anxiogenic, sedative, anticonvulsant activities and acts as a potent antagonist on atrial natriuretic peptide receptors in vitro. A series of p-substituted isatin semicarbazones have shown anticonvulsant activity in MES, scPTZ and scSTY tests. Various isatin-N-Mannich bases of ...
متن کاملPhotoinduced reactions of bicycloalkylidenes with isatin and isoquinolinetrione.
Photoinduced reactions of isatin and N-methyl-1,3,4-isoquinolinetrione with bicycloalkylidenes such as bicyclopropylidene, cyclopropylidenecyclobutane, cyclopropylidenecyclohexane and bicyclohexylidene were investigated. The reactions gave spirooxetanes as the major products derived from the [2 + 2] photocycloaddition pathway via 1,4-biradical recombination. Unusual products including the [4 + ...
